PRAY: Dedicate your reading project to the Lord in prayer. Since he’s already promised to bless you for reading and meditating on his word, (Joshua 1:8) you could start by thanking him, in advance, for the blessing he has in store for you as you read.
Could you get excited about that?
One more little thing... do you have a Bible?
We recommend you read through a Bible that has very few notes. These are known as ultra-thin Bibles. If you take out all the study notes you’ll see how much shorter a book the Bible really is.
If you need a Bible without notes, please visit our RESOURCE page. There are several translations Bible’s to choose from. (You’ll learn more about translations in time, under BIBLE STUDY.)
Here are a few suggestions. If you want a Bible that is very readable, choose either
• New International Version or
• Living Bible Translation
If you’re more interested in a more exact translation, choose either:
• New King James Bible
• New American Standard Bible
If the old English is not a distraction for you or if you just love reading the Bible in this older English, then the Bible for you will be:
• The King James Bible.
That’s it! You’re set. Have you made your decision?
Now, click here to send us an email to let us know your planned starting date.
We’re excited for you, and will remember to pray for you all along the way. Remember, we’re reading with you.
